As usual ... Onam was celebrated with great pomp and show in kerala...
We decorate our houses and made floral decorations ( " pookkalam") as a mark of respect and love to the legendary king Mahabali.
Onam spreads the message of love , peace and prosperity.
The entire festival is spread over ten days starting from the malayalam star "atham"
on the tenth day..ie "thiruonam" day is regarded as the D day. Traditional Onam games are followed by a yummy feast served on plaintain leaves ( Sadhya).
Onam has no religious borders nor regional borders....Its one unifying force which is spreading far far across the seas with time.....
